Why a Patio Store in the High Desert
Outdoor Kitchens Escape is a small, independently run store in Albuquerque, New Mexico, owned and operated by Roger Mai. We opened in March 2026 for a reason that makes sense to anyone living at five thousand feet: the weather here is almost always good enough to be outside, and almost never quite comfortable enough to stay there. Sun that fades cushions in one season. Monsoon storms in July and August that end a dinner in ten minutes. Spring wind that takes a cheap canopy with it. Evenings that drop twenty degrees the moment the sun goes behind the mountains.
So we built the catalog around structure and heat rather than trend. Hardtop gazebos and louvered pergolas that hold up to wind and hail, propane fire tables that get a patio through a cold night without a woodpile, and seating meant to stay outside year round instead of being hauled into the garage every autumn. If it would not survive a New Mexico spring, we do not list it.

Furniture That Earns Its Place Outside
A patio in New Mexico is not decoration, it is usable square footage, and for most of the year it is the best room in the house. We would rather sell one gazebo that is still standing and still square in year five than three that photographed well. That is the whole filter: frame material, fastener quality, roof load, cushion fabric, and whether the manufacturer still answers the phone.

What We Stock
Gazebos & Pergolas
Hardtop gazebos and louvered aluminum pergolas, the kind with galvanized steel or polycarbonate roofs, adjustable louvers and pull-down screens. These are the pieces that turn a patio from a fair-weather spot into shade in July and shelter in August.
Fire Pit Tables
Propane fire tables in concrete, steel and aluminum, from 42-inch rectangles up to outdoor kitchen islands with a fire feature built into the run. Propane, because nobody under a dry-season fire restriction wants to be hauling firewood.
Patio Furniture Sets
Conversation sets, swivel rocker sets and wicker lounge groups, most of them built around a fire table so the seating and the heat show up as one purchase instead of two separate deliveries.
We also carry full outdoor kitchen islands, including KoKoMo BBQ islands with four-burner grills, wok burners and refrigeration, for people building a permanent cooking setup rather than rolling a grill out of the garage.

How Orders Ship
Orders ship directly from our suppliers' warehouses in the United States, which keeps large items like gazebos and outdoor kitchen islands from being handled more times than they need to be. Free shipping applies to most orders within the Continental U.S., excluding Alaska and Hawaii. Handling takes one to three business days and total delivery usually lands between six and eleven business days, with tracking through USPS, UPS or FedEx on every shipment.
